Nairobi Charter on Transforming Education Financing

Nairobi Charter on Transforming Education Financing

Downloads

Over the past 18 months ActionAid has led a Learning Collaborative on Education Financing in Africa with civil society organisations and coalitions across East, West, North, Central and Southern Africa – with support from Education Out Loud (EOL). A final meeting of 45 people from across Africa was held in Nairobi from 21st to 24th Africa, culminating in the launch of the collectively developed Nairobi Charter on Transforming Education Financing.

This charter lays out a powerful collective agenda for how African governments, and other actors who are committed to the right education, can increase the size of government budgets overall, the share of budgets allocated to education, the sensitivity of spending based on equity and the scrutiny of spending in practice.
