As the 2030 deadline for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) approaches, progress on delivering inclusive, gender responsive, quality public education for all as envisioned in SDG 4 has been mixed. The Tax Ed Alliance has published five country briefings providing an outline of the current state of education financing in Ghana, Nepal, Senegal, Uganda and Zambia, and the issues affecting education investment at both national and global level.
The briefings unpack progress towards necessary shifts in global economic governance through the UN Tax Convention process and the push for a UN Debt Convention and how these can support efforts to scale up domestic capacity to sustainably and progressively invest in public education.
