New research from ActionAid reveals the social and economic impacts of the Coivd-19 pandemic on young women living in urban areas in India, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.
In August 2020, ActionAid interviewed 1219 young women as part of the survey, with the majority (80%) aged between 18 and 30.
This publication reflects the findings of a rapid assessment survey to understand and address issues and priorities of the young women around four broad, interrelated thematic areas: economic security, unpaid care and domestic work, bodily integrity and public services.
