ActionAid statement on attacks against humanitarian organisations in Ukraine

ActionAid is heartbroken and outraged by the latest attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against humanitarian organisations delivering life-saving aid to the most vulnerable people on the frontlines. We wish to express our deepest respect and condolences to the families, friends, and teams of the Ukrainian organisation affected.

With the alarming escalation in attacks on civilians and the repeated strikes on humanitarian workers, we urgently call for an immediate end to all forms of violence targeting civilian populations and those providing critical humanitarian assistance.

The deliberate targeting of civilians and aid providers is a grave violation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and must not be tolerated under any circumstances. These attacks must be independently investigated, and those responsible must be held accountable to ensure justice for the victims and to deter future violations.
