Indonesia earthquake
Following the earthquake that has affected thousands in Indonesia, Fransisca Fitri, Director of YAPPIKA-ActionAid said:
“Our sympathies go out to the thousands of families who have had their lives turned upside down by the devastating earthquake in Cianjur in Indonesia.
“ActionAid is working with its partner The Center for Women Resource Development Pasoendan in the affected areas to provide vital wellbeing support to women and adolescent girls who have experienced the horrors of this disaster. We are also working to provide period products, food and hygiene products to people who need them.
“We are concerned about the impact of this earthquake on children’s education as over 300 schools and education centres have been affected, and we will be working to ensure there is still access to learning in the coming days, weeks and months.”
