You will work to ensure that Women’s Rights programme work across the ActionAid federation is aligned to the priorities set by the International Platform. You will lead the design of effective programmes linking local, national, regional and global work under each of the maximum three priority threads of work, supporting working groups and other mechanisms set up by the platform to ensure these programmes are on track and that learning and knowledge is generated and shared. You will also manage the project managers of major multi-country projects and be the Global Secretariat’s focal point for any other major women’s rights projects across the federation, ensuring a continuing flow of learning and ever deeper alignment, integration and coherence of efforts.

Significant practical experience is required in designing and practically implementing women’s rights programmes, of which substantial time should be international experience is required. Strong understanding of rights-based approaches to women’s rights and ways of linking programme practice to policy and campaigning work, experience in multi-country & international programme design, project cycle, development & implementation and experience of project management and accountability to donors for significant cross-country programmes is essential.

You must have an advanced University degree or significant experience, at least 5 of which should be in directly designing and implementing women’s rights programmes on the ground and have substantial experience with public speaking and business writing for at least 2 years.
