As the Country Director (CD), the role represents ActionAid International Federation in Afghanistan; leads the development and oversees the implementation of a new Country Strategy for ActionAid for the period of 2018-2022.
As the top leadership in the country, you will focus on delivering high standards of ActionAid’s operations in the Afghanistan and ensuring resources are in place to achieve budgeted performance targets and monitoring overall performance against these targets. The role requires broad organizational experience to develop and manage a growing team well as deep knowledge of Afghanistan social, political and economic context to make significant improvements to policies and processes that lead long-term success of ActionAid in Afghanistan. You will need to have excellent negotiation and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to handle sensitive diplomatic and Government level advocacy negotiations on matters affecting ActionAid's Afghanistan country programme.
With post graduate degree in development study, political science and/or organisational management, you must have significant experience working at the top management / executive director position in development work and poverty alleviation programmes with proven initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm in managing complex activities in a changing environment and ability to influence change. Your backgrounds must include proven track records in fundraising and managing complex financial control and management system from diversified resources with the budget size of at least 3 million GBP and above . A strategic thinker you will need to have ability to manage a large diversified team and built high performance cultures, and have proven change management experience. Experience of working/ living in Afghanistan is essential for this position.
