Focus on implementation of ActionAid’s Corporate Engagement Framework, with the goal of creating systems that can operate independently after this two-year appointment is concluded. Among the first tasks will be managing a participatory review and update of the Framework, along with detailed implementation plans that can be immediately grasped and used by countries and the GS. Managing compliance with the Framework will be an on-going responsibility, requiring consistent contact with relevant country staff and country directors; the Advisor will maintain a register of corporate engagements around the federation. The Framework focuses on procurement, investment, advocacy, campaigning, and fundraising, so the Advisor will need to cultivate a broad range of steady contacts, convene staff from different functions and countries, and develop guidance for consistent information-sharing. 

As the Advisor you will facilitate strategic thinking and planning among countries and the GS to maximize ActionAid’s engagement in activities that contribute to positive rights- and community- based development practices. The Advisor will develop standards and expectations of corporate conduct that will be expressed and exercised through revised corporate screening procedures, and facilitate collaboration with like-minded external factors including trade unions, movements, and activist networks. Knowledge gathering and management will be a crucial aspect of the job, so the Advisor can contribute to policy, fundraising, advocacy, and campaigns plans, and facilitate corporate engagements building on ActionAid’s work.

You must have relevant advanced degree or substantial experience working in either advocacy and policy or corporate social responsibility or related area and you must be proficient in English.
