The Global Engagement team in ActionAid’s Global Secretariat is a key delivery partner in ActionAid’s strategy Action for Global Justice.
We are now recruiting for a Research Advisor who would support the team, the Programme & Global Engagement Directorate and the federation to produce quality evidence.
The Research Advisor will promote ActionAid’s Feminist Research Guidelines and Research Signature in federation-wide research products, and will also support specific countries to apply the Guidelines as part of a pilot seeking to finalise the Guidelines within the year; therefore applicants must have an understanding of intersectional feminism and the ability to support research project managers across the federation.
The Research Advisor will support ActionAid’s work around participatory methodologies, particularly those that relate to research.
The post holder will additionally continue to develop and update the Research Hub and will work to promote ActionAid’s research internally and externally, including fundraising, through webinars and building relationships. Proven experience and understanding of research partnerships would be invaluable.
The post holder will support the Global Engagement Team to produce evidence to support the Global Campaign on Women’s Labour, Decent and Public Services, and support the rest of the Programme and Engagement Directorate to undertake and produce policy research briefs that relate to our priorities. Proven experience of providing policy input and strategic analysis to joint policy and advocacy initiatives is important.
To succeed in this role you must have an excellent knowledge of participatory research and development, a strong understanding of power relations which shape relations between the global North and South and substantive knowledge of women’s rights.
