Global Secretariat Procurement Manager
Financial management is being increasingly recognised as a key enabler for ActionAid’s future vision, agility, cost effectiveness and sustainability and as part of the new strategy the Global Finance System will move to a Sun6 cloud-based platform. A key component is the end to end procurement process which it supports from the purchase requisition to the payment to supplier.
As GS Procurement Manager you will be responsible for fixing the current manual process and delivering sustainable improvements towards the target end-state. This involves a hands-on role in the designing and deployment of AA’s procurement policies and processes enabling long term value for money and robust management of procurement related risk in ActionAid’s Global Secretariat. During this period of rapid change, the GS Procurement Manager will ensure that the organisation manages procurement effectively during the transition to the Sun6 cloud platform, and thereafter. You will also ensure that procurers throughout the organisation have the tools and skills to enable them to make sound decisions and monitor supplier performance consistently, promote best practice and ensure that AAI gets value for money.
You must have a recognised relevant professional procurement qualification or equivalent experience and have a proven track record in procurement strategy and practice as well as a good understanding of compliance and commercial risk. You must be able to demonstrate efficiency savings in previous roles through effective contract management and strong negotiation skills. Importantly, you must be able to integrate into an existing team, build relationships and drive improvement and smooth transition to the new platform.
If you have the procurement expertise and strong management skills to make a significant difference to our organisation we would be delighted to hear from you.
