Michelle Festus

Michelle Festus is a feminist activist and believes that justice is integral to achieving peace. She joined ActionAid South Africa in January 2013 and has extensive experience of Women’s Land Rights, Violence against Women, Sexual Reproductive and Health Rights, and Gender analysis and policy development.

Michelle has held leadership positions at the Gender Education and Training Network (GETNET), the Commission for Gender Equality, the National Land Committee and as South Africa Country Director of Swedish development organisation Diakonia.
