Work as an integral part of the Institutional Funding team, collaborating with other functions and ActionAid members to support effective institutional funding and donor contract management. This includes developing and embedding best practice to comply with donor financial rules and regulations, monitoring and providing management information on key risks, contributing to the implementation of improved financial and risk management processes to facilitate better donor reporting and compliance, and capacity building of GS and country staff with grants and compliance related roles.
As Grants & Compliance Lead you will be will be involved in developing and embedding best practice to comply with donor rules and regulations as well as contributing to the implementation of improved financial and risk management processes to facilitate better donor reporting and compliance. Key projects include leading the cost recovery policy and tool development project for the federation and being the subject matter expert for developing a new donor contract management system. Important will be the ability to drive forward the federation’s knowledge and tools to deliver ways to comply with donor rules and regulations.
You must have a degree and/or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Studies, Auditing, Economics or related field. This will be complemented by extensive experience in senior grant management roles where you will have been involved in working on proposals and managing contracts from institutional donors such as EU, DFID, NORAD and the UN. You will have been involved complex planning and budgeting processes involving multiple consortium partners and used to translating complex donor rules and regulations into clear guidance on donor policies and procedures for ActionAid members. A comprehensive understanding of grant management, financial reporting, review and analysis will be backed by strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
