Strategic connection to AA projects and priorities: Overall support to programs with learning.

Drive knowledge curation, inspire and facilitate communities of interests in the field of participatory methodologies as basis for high quality program led learning across AAI Country programs

As the Global Advisor on Programme-led Learning you will be a central player in the efforts to develop our integrated learning approach to deliver stronger and more purposeful learning interventions.

You will support a number of countries in the ActionAid Federation and with a base at MS-TCDC (ActionAid DK’s Training Center for Development Cooperation) you will strengthen their ability to build capacity through a variety of high quality, interrelated learning services such as knowledge curation, community of interest (CoI), digital learning, people to people as well as face-to-face workshops and trainings.

 As the Programme-led Learning Advisor you will: 

  • Develop, collect and share guidelines and best practice on knowledge curation and CoI.
  • Support the establishment of a cross-country community of interest for Reflection-Action practitioners.
  • Advice and explore how TCDC could play a role in anchoring the generation of knowledge material around participatory methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of TCDC’s profile as a high quality and relevant learning service provider
  • Contribute to the implementation and activities of the ActionAid Program-Led Learning project.
    • Advise on integrated learning ensuring that TCDC can provide blended learning services and have a clear linkage between its multiple modalities (convening, training, knowledge curation, library and CoI).

 The job requires that you have: 

  • A master’s degree or equivalent experience in Learning, Pedagogies, Capacity development or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate work experience and a track-record illustrating your ability to work with integrated learning.
  • Knowledge on network based learning including communities of interest/practice
  • Solid experience with adult participatory learning methodologies
  • Strong advisory skills and ability to inspire and mobilise practitioners
    • Networking skills, ability to focus on the given tasks and to steer processes
    • Full working knowledge of English.

And it is great if you have: 

  • Field knowledge on rights based programming work.
  • Knowledge of digital learning.
    • The ability to pass on knowledge, inspire and give constructive feedback to empower others.
    • The ability to work in a diverse environment with people from many cultures and backgrounds.
    • Experience from working with capacity development and coaching.
    • Experience from working within a civil society organization, social movement and/or the international development sector.

It is a prerequisite that you understand the role as an advisor to support and build the capacity of others through coaching, mentoring and bringing the area forward through developing and introducing good practices. In addition, you are to respect and genuinely value others – also if they have a different background or approach than you. You must dare to explore untraditional approaches and thinking, and hold a strategic and innovative mindset to your projects.

We offer you 

  • A 2-year contract with possibility of extension under the People4Change programme funded by Danida through ActionAid Denmark.
  • A base outside Arusha at MS-TCDC with regular travels to a number of countries in the ActionAid Federation.
  • A comprehensive allowance package including relocation, housing and education allowance for kids. The salary is app. 2,800 Euros monthly, and an obligatory pension scheme with 10% employer contribution is part of the package.
  • A broad, professional network of passionate, international colleagues.
