Worldview The Gambia, a local NGO, in February received two mobile clinic vans worth $98,000 from ActionAid International The Gambia. The vans, funded by the Global Fund, are meant to ensure the delivery of timely and quality health care services to people affected by HIV and AIDS and live in hard to reach areas in the country. They vans will serve as the primary medical provider for many who lack immediate health care when it is most needed, free of charge. They will also provide teaching and awareness creation initiatives which will be further linked to the strategically positioned Wellness Centres in key towns and regions across the country. The wellness centres provide health interventions that promote healthy behaviour change.
